Meet the Owner
Hi, I’m John Bailey. My journey began with a career in news and talk radio, where I frequently reported on victims of burglary, domestic violence, street crime, and sexual assault. Participating in occasional late-night police ride-alongs exposed me to the harsh realities individuals face when they’re unprepared for violent encounters. This experience left a lasting impression and fueled my passion for creating a safer environment for decent people.
I’ve always believed in the importance of preparedness. So many stories highlight individuals caught off guard when confronting danger, if only they’d been able to spot the danger in advance and then have a means to defend themselves! This realization led to the formation of Escape Unharmed, a business committed to providing personal protection devices for those who want effective yet non-lethal self-defense options.
I love to walk our dogs in the many local parks and trails. It’s great exercise and very relaxing, and I like to stay prepared for what could happen. I always have a canister of canine repellant to deal with any aggressive animals that may try to attack my dogs or me. I also routinely carry a stun gun or pepper spray to address any human threats we may encounter.
